Lead Developer For Webby Winning Development Firm (Chelsea)
Note: Full time, on-site position with benefits. We will also consider on-site contractors and H1-B candidates.
Bandwidth Productions is a small, Webby Award winning web development/design firm looking for someone to lead development on our custom CMS platform and build new applications used by our clients. We're having one of our best years ever and are looking for someone to play an integral part in the next phase of our growth. No politics, no bureaucracy, no dead weight and plenty of autonomy. We've been profitable since 2001 with a roster of long time, loyal clients.
Your role:
- Lead development on our custom CMS (built on CodeIgniter) and turn it into an easily deployable product to be used for all new client sites.
- Build and maintain applications for our current clients (visit BandwidthProductions.com for an overview). Applications include complex e-commerce systems, video galleries, custom blogging tools and other features associated with consumer-facing websites.
- Play an active role in hiring additional developers
- Recommend and implement core tools (version control, bug tracking, etc.)

Who you are:
A talented and hard working developer with 3-5 years experience in PHP/MySQL using an MVC Framework (we use CodeIgniter). You are a creative thinker, problem solver and know how to get things done.
The following skills are REQUIRED:
- Minimum of 3-5 years building applications from scratch in PHP/MYSQL using an MVC Framework. Examples might include a custom content management system you've developed, a store catalog system, a news manager, membership/registration system, etc.
- Proficiency in HTML, Javascript, DHTML/CSS
The following skills are A PLUS:
- BS in Computer Science or related field
- Integrating with payment gateways like Authorize.net
- Configuring and managing LAMP based servers which may include:
- Familiarity with issues around scaleability
- Use of RPM or other package managers
- Pear package use and installation
- Familiarity with software firewalls, such as iptables
- Cloud services e.g. Amazon S3/EC2 or Rackspace Cloud
- Managing other developers
